Garfield and Odie To Pitch Professional Pet Sitters

Jan 6, 2010

Garfield and Odie are set to promote professional pet sitters.
King, N.C.-based Pet Sitters International, a trade group with nearly 8,000 member businesses, has signed a licensing agreement with Garfield-licensing group Paws Inc. of Albany, Ind. The deal allows PSI to use Garfield, Odie and other cartoon characters to promote its members' professional pet care services in various marketing materials.

"PSI is all about education our members and our members are all about pampering their clients' pets," said Terry Chance, the association's marketing director. "Garfield is definitely an intellectual cat who wants the best treatment possible. We are delighted about the opportunity to work with the Garfield characters. They are fun, loveable and extremely well known among pet owners."

The characters will begin appearing immediately in PSI member programs, products, campaigns and events, PSI reported.
