Arwedson – The Dog Company was founded in the late 1990s. The owner and designer of Arwedson, Lars Dohmen, sees that luxury and comfort for dogs often has nothing to do with quality. Most articles are fragile, they begin to rust, are not washable or consumers must buy a new one after only 6 months of use.
This gave them the idea of creating a high-class product with a very long life, and with a design and colour range which fits within nearly every interior.
However, the challenge was how to find materials such as: mahogany, high-quality leather, high-level woven textile or even titanium. It became clear that these high-quality materials are very hard to find, which is why it took the company nearly two years to find all of the materials in the right quality as well as employees who are able to manufacture these products.
Although they have not conducted official market research to find out if there really is demand in the market, they have since proved that there is in fact a market for their high-quality products. Their products are naturally more expensive when compared with others but the durability of the products means a much longer life; therefore buying Arwedson products is really much more economical at the end of the day.
At present, Arwedson has customers who buy its products in the following regions: Europe, USA, Russia or even Japan.
Due to the longevity of Arwedson products, one of the products' requirements is that they look good today as well as in the future. For this reason, the company has chosen to add a classic touch to their products' designs. In order for the products to be able to fit in most of interiors, they offer a large range of possibilities, such as 27 different colours in leather for the Dog-Baskets, the Leashes and Collars.
For all their products they try to match actual fashion trends. If, in spite of this goal, the client has specific preferences, the company is able to produce a leather basket, collar or a leash which meets the client's specifications. This is why the products will fit in every house, in every interior. The company does not think exclusively nor first and foremost of the consumer; the products must make the life of a dog more comfortable, and as pleasant and beautiful as possible for our four-legged friends.
The distribution and sales strategy involves manufacturing every product in two or three different types of material on the basis of a discussion with the distributor and the market is will serve. For example the Ambassador Dog Basket may be produced in mahogany but also in pine for a larger market. For this reason, the price for an Ambassador Dog Basket can vary for the consumer from 95 Euros to 1990 Euros. This means that every distributor has the freedom to choose the right products in the right materials, suitable for its customers and market.
