Grupo Dibaq, located in Spain and an important producer of dog and cat food and fish feed in southern and central Europe, has taken over the Dutch Rodi Petfood Group. Rodi is a producer of dog and cat food, snacks and biscuits in northwest Europe.
Dibaq has purchased a share of 80% in Rodi; the remaining shares stay in the hands of Rodi's founder. The purchase creates a strong combination of companies, with production plants all across Europe, offering a complete range of pet food in all qualities and prices.
Dibaq and Rodi are confident that the purchase offers several important synergic advantages. "This new combination is a perfect match," says Dibaq's Juan Gargallo. "Both companies are known for their high-quality products. We now offer the European market a one-stop-shop address for all products and market sectors. We can supply them with dry, moist, semi-moist and frozen dog and cat food, as well as snacks and biscuits, delivered from ten different production plants in Germany, Spain, Czech Republic, the UK, the Netherlands and Denmark." Ronald van Rutten from Rodi adds: "Together we strengthen our market position by offering a high supply-reliability. Rodi can profit from Dibaq's fifty years of experience in the pet food market, both in production techniques and in organisation development."
Dibaq, based in Fuentepelayo (Segovia) in Spain, is a multinational specialised in pet food. The group has a turnover of over EUR200 million in animal and fish feed and is growing rapidly. By now, it consists of 26 businesses spread over 30 countries on 4 continents, with a total of 1.100 employees. Production centres are located in Spain, Czech Republic and Mexico and the company owns distribution centres in Slovakia, Italy, Greece, Poland, Romania and Turkey.
Rodi is one of the largest animal feed producers, supplying supermarkets, pet retail stores, and garden and d-i-y centres. The company has an EUR80 million turnover and employs 285 people. Rodi owns production facilities in the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and the UK.
