Group Depré takes over Trouw Nutrition pet food

Group Depré, located in Beernem (Belgium) has taken over the pet food activities of Trouw Nutrition Belgium, located in Gent. According to Depré, the acquisition fits the GroupâEURTs strategy of expanding its activities in the production of hobby feeds for birds (including doves, ducks and chickens), rodents, cats and dogs. This branch has been accommodated with subsidiary Fides Petfood from Oostende (Belgium).

Trouw Nutrition Belgium is part of the Dutch group Nutreco. Because of the take-over, the number of employees with Fides Petfood will double from fifteen to approximately thirty within a short period of time. The production will be tripled to 45,000 tonnes.
